ORGANIZATION: Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma

Looking for volunteers to lead healthy cooking and nutrition classes for low-income families! This is a great opportunity if you love to cook or have an interest in healthy eating! No professional experience required. Volunteers will receive curriculum guides complete with nutrition lessons and recipes!

Classes are held all over the Tulsa community and serve families who are trying to create a healthier lifestyle for their families on a limited budget! "Cooking Matters" is a program of Share Our Strengths and No Kid Hungry. Each course is six weeks long and at the end of each class participants receive a free bag of groceries.

Description

The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma distributes food and other grocery-related items to more than 450 non-profit programs feeding the needy in our service area of 24 counties. Together we help provide the equivalent of 335,000 meals each week.
