Canton Residents: Peoria Area Mobile Pick up Drivers Needed

Basic Function:

Receive call from MVRBC Volunteer Scheduler with the Mobile Pick up date and time. If that day/time are acceptable, drive to the Peoria area, pick up blood from the Mobile crew and deliver it to the Lab in Davenport, IA. Mileage is reimbursed at .50/per mile from home back to home. Mileage logs can be turned in bi-weekly or monthly to Volunteer Services Manager.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is excited to Help Save Lives in the Peoria area by expanding services with OSF HealthCare. Starting March 1, MVRBC will add SIX to our existing five OSF facilities. We will begin having mobile blood drives in the Peoria area soon and need to expand our volunteer driver program to include the Peoria area. Since we have a relationship in the Canton area and service Graham Hospital, we feel Canton residents are familiar with MVRBC and will hopefully respond to our new volunteer need.

The Blood Center is a volunteer-based organization that involves volunteer blood donors, a voluntary board of trustees, and community volunteers. Volunteers provide a much needed and valued service to our donors, patients and staff. We serve over 115 hospitals in 4 states and utilize volunteers from many areas to assist in our operations. Headquarters for the organization, as well as component processing, is located in Davenport, Iowa.
