Event Description:
Special Olympics Miami-Dade 2019 Area Basketball Competition on Saturday January 12th!
Volunteer Role:
Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, escorting athletes, running skills stations (ex: shooting, dribbling, passing, etc.), score keeping, group leaders, awards and more.
Volunteers will receive:
- Special Olympics T-Shirt
- Record of Community Service Hours
Volunteer Requirements:
- Complete a Class B Volunteer Form
- Bring a photo ID
- Volunteers under 15 must be accompanied by an adult
ONCE YOUR ROLE IS COMPLETED, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LEAVE.

Description
The ultimate goal of Special Olympics is to help persons with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.
