In the last year, volunteers contributed nearly 11,000 hours of their time to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. Their gifts of love and compassion make our house more than just a place to stay for families with a child under critical medical care. Volunteers truly are the heart of our "home away from home." They perform various tasks around the House - the same kinds of tasks required at any home. Volunteers help our families by cleaning kitchens, common areas and guest rooms. They also help by manning our Front Desk which entails warmly greeting families as they come and go, helping them check in and out, and answering phone calls. Mostly, volunteers help families feel welcome and at home during a stressful time in their lives. Our volunteers give their time once a week, once a month or fill in as their schedules allow.

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children and their families.
Description
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Ohio Valley is located in Evansville Indiana and is a chapter of the RMHC global network. It is the charity’s mission to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. RMHC’s core programs provide a bridge to accessible health care and allow families more time together, which helps in the healing process. RMHC of the Ohio Valley currently has two Ronald McDonald Houses in the metropolitan Evansville area servicing families from throughout the United States. In addition, the Ohio Valley Chapter also has a Hospitality a la Carte program, where 5 Happy Wheels Hospitality carts roll through area hospitals and healthcare facilities, offering a toy, treat, snack or refreshment to patients and visitors alike. RMHC of the Ohio Valley could not fulfill our mission on a daily basis without the dedication of our volunteers who help man these programs. The Houses have provided overnight stays to thousands, thanks to our generous donors and our compassionate, kind and hard-working volunteers. The impact that RMHC programs have on families lasts a lifetime.
