An estimated 61,000 adults in Chula Vista do not have the literacy skills to be successful in their homes, their work and their community. The Chula Vista Public Library is looking for volunteers who want to help adults in their community improve their reading and writing skills. Volunteers will be teamed with an adult learner and meet twice a week for 1-1/2 hours each time for six months at one of the three Chula Vista branch libraries.You CAN make a difference!

Description
Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
