Global Green USA's New Orleans Community & Climate Action Center in partnership with Compost Now is seeking volunteers in the Lower Ninth Ward and beyond to assisting in Food Waste Collection at the Martin Luther King Public Library at Caffin & North Claiborne Aves.

We provide a pre-assignment training for all interested in volunteers. We encourage local residents of the Lower Ninth to volunteer and help us reduce waste in New Orleans, as well as all who are interested in composting, and keeping the environment healthy for all.

Collected food waste goes to local farmers who compost food waste to use as fertilizer soil in order to grow sustainable local food thereby reducing their carbon footprint, and promoting Farm-to-Table healthy eating habit.
