The National MS Society is offering an exciting internship opportunity within the Development department. The unpaid internship can provide school credit and offers valuable experience in the non-profit, fundraising, and event planning industries. The office is located in Creve Coeur, St. Louis County, MO. We are currently looking to fill one intern position with a student looking for a career in nonprofit, marketing, fundraising, and/or communications. Candidates must be self-motivated, team players, results-oriented and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people living with and affected by MS.
This internship will assist with execution of Spring and Summer 2019 events. Success within this role will be measured by, but not limited to, achieving fundraising goals through relationship management and following operational plans, as well as achieving logistical goals related to deadlines, day-of execution, and off-setting overall event costs. Interns will be trained.

Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services for people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and nationwide network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
Seeking volunteers to the MS cause is the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers four key fund-raising activities:
- Bike MS
- Walk MS
The Society also engages volunteers to help influence lawmakers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people living with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as:
- Marketing/Communications
- Public relations
- Corporate and donor development
- Medical, legal, administrative.
