Universal Health Net volunteers help provide a wide assortment of services to both the patients and their families. Some examples include but are not limited to reading to the patient, helping either the patient or their loved ones with small tasks around the home, and providing a sympathetic and compassionate ear, to simply be there for the patient and give them someone other than their family to talk to. Although these are not the only tasks UHN volunteers are asked to preform, they are the most important. Description
Hospice care at Universal Health Net is focused on
serving and comforting patients who have a terminal
illness.
We provide a wide range of Hospice care services, including
exceptional medical care to our patients centered upon
providing pain management, comfort and care.
We also offer patients’ families with support services
which are geared towards meeting the needs of friends
and family members, be it social support programs,
illness support programs, or other kinds of assistance.
Our experience also involves bereavement and grief support to
loved ones.
At UHN Health our ultimate goal is to provide exemplary service with
care, compassion, and understanding. Our most important
concern is the well being of our patients and supporting
their loved ones.
