Role

As the Director of Culture, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities within the Culture team and ensuring that all teams are properly staffed and trained. The Director is both a manager and execution specialist, and should be capable of completing all tasks with a high degree of proficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Develop structure, strategy and process for volunteer recruitment and onboarding
• Create and manage timelines for the organization's small events - both internal and external
• Establish strong relationships with all volunteers and understand their personal needs, ambitions, and limitations
• Facilitate communication between all teams
• Represent Startup San Diego at ecosystem events to enhance our connection to the entrepreneurial community.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with hiring and/or recruitment processes
• Ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using G-Suite
• Strong organizational and leadership skills

Bonus points if you have...

• Experience with event planning
• Excellent mentoring, coaching and people-management skills
• Experience with community building, ideally in the startup space
• Project management experience
