ORGANIZATION: AUMAZO, INC.

Thank You for Caring
Our girls in grade 7 and 8 are grateful to you for thinking of them.

Aumazo empowers young women in rural Cameroon and eventually other countries in Africa through high school education and its endless possibilities.

Did you know that only 17% of girls in rural Cameroon get access to high school education?

Do you know that there is something you can do to change that?

Join the movement to help us build high schools in Cameroon that give girls access to quality education and a safe and sanitary place to live, learn, and grow.

We know that when you educate a girl, you not only change her life, but you change the lives of everyone around her.

So, how can you help?

Mission Statement

Aumazo, Inc. was founded in 2005 to give girls in rural Cameroon the option of quality high school education with better infrastructure and vocational training and empower them to build a successful future as adults.

Description

Aumazo, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit, is working to improve the lives of young women in Cameroon through tuition free access to high school education and resources that help girls stay in school. By removing the barriers to a comprehensive secondary education for rural young women, by creating safe and supportive learning environments, and by providing both traditional and vocational educational programs, we can help these girls enjoy more successful lives and contribute more fully to the economic development of their communities.

With tuition free access to a community-based school, no longer will young women of the region be forced to move to urban areas to pursue their education, leaving their friends and family while putting themselves at risk of physical and sexual abuse that’s all too common. No longer will these girls’ absence rates spike after puberty, due to a lack of adequate bathroom facilities in schools. No longer will families need to choose where to invest scarce tuition money - in a daughter’s education or a son’s.

Thanks to generous donors and volunteers, we kicked off our Aumazo education project in the western Cameroonian village of Bankondji, where we are building our flagship boarding high school for girls and have launched a tutoring program to usher girls through Cameroon’s mandatory high school admissions testing.
