The main role of the Exhibits Team is to create and maintain (repair when needed) the exhibits for the Museum of Science and Sustainability. In the 2019 year, we are looking for light repairs, and two new exhibits in the summer months.
Tasks
Map the next year’s needs for exhibits
Repair Exhibits and activities as necessary
Create new activities and Exhibits around Science and Sustainable living concepts
Create instructions for volunteers in written form and in video form.
Be able to explain concepts to the general public or small children who may not have any knowledge of the topic. You will be passing the exhibit to another team, so it is essential they understand all the "science stuff".
Read feedback from the Outreach Team regarding their interactions with the public and adjust activities as needed.
Depending on the needs of this team, there may be monthly meetings.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain high-quality museum exhibits on a grassroots budget.
Create BOMs and proposals for new exhibits
Skills/Experience
Engineering skills are ideal
A science background is also ideal
Ability to convey scientific concepts through an activity
Good communication skills within the organization and on behalf of our organization
Previous experience writing Bills of Materials are a plus.
