Hospice by the Bay

Are you a good listener? Are you caring, helpful and adaptable? Do you love Sonoma?

As a Santa Rosa Hospice Patient and Family Support Volunteer for Hospice by the Bay you’ll be making a significant difference for someone facing end-of-life challenges. Your meaningful contributions will support the Hospice Care Team by:

> Relieving a family caregiver
> Providing companionship to patients
> Listening to life stories
> Playing their favorite music
> Reading a book
> Writing letters and memories
> Assisting with a favorite activity
> Running an errand or doing small chores
> Accompanying a patient on an outing

In return you’ll learn all about hospice care and receive comprehensive training to prepare you for working with our patients and their families.

"Words can hardly express the gifts I have received by being a part of this organization. I am often still surprised at the level of compassion and care reflected continually by staff and fellow volunteers, not only for the patients, but for the volunteers as well."

We hope you’ll consider joining our caring team! We’re especially looking for bi-lingual English-Spanish volunteers. Hospice by the Bay was founded by dedicated volunteers more than 40 years ago and they’re still at the heart of what we do.
