Position Description:

• Assist clinic coordinators, medical assistants, and healthcare providers with clinical and administrative tasks, including:
• Collect and organize laboratory test supplies for healthcare providers
• Process and prepare laboratory test specimens to ensure sufficient and accurate labeling
• Complete or oversee laboratory test forms to ensure proper completion and, if necessary, authorization and signature from the proper healthcare provider
• Check lab computer frequently for lab orders sent by healthcare providers
• Perform any ordered labs that are in-house according to training and instruction
• Package specimens with their corresponding laboratory form and ensure proper storage
• Log all laboratory tests that are run both in Logician (EMR) and on paper
• Run control tests on all designated laboratory tests, as necessary
• Clean and stock laboratory area and patient rooms
• Maintain and sterilize all laboratory equipment
• Be prepared during down time to perform tasks such as disposal of expired medications,
  restocking and various other jobs
