Mission Statement
Our mission is to exhibit and promote the medicinal, economic, cultural and environmental importance of plants to the people of Union County and the surrounding Piedmont region of South Carolina
Description
Established in 2014, the Piedmont Physic Garden is a small botanical garden located in the historic district of Union, SC. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to reconnecting people with the world of plants and educating them about the impact that plants have on our everyday lives, particularly our health and wellness. Our focus on health and wellness is reflected in the word, physic, which refers to the art or practice of healing disease. Our inspiration is London's Chelsea Physic Garden, which has been in existence since 1673.
Although we do not have regular visiting hours, tours of the garden can be made by appointment. Please contact us at 864-427-2556 if your group or organization would like to schedule a tour with one of our volunteers during the spring or summer months. We also offer a variety of workshops throughout the year so follow us on Facebook for details of our upcoming events.
