Volunteer Role

Lunchroom Volunteers

We hope to encourage positive attitudes around whole foods, and simply prepared vegetables. EAT360 addresses students in the lunchroom through quarterly Fresh Food Tasting Days. These days turn the cafeteria into a celebration, complete with music and one delicious tasting portion of a dish created by our EAT360 trained chefs. We invite all students to taste our dish along with their regularly scheduled school lunch.

Volunteers can join the fun as well, serving the students as they find their seats in the cafeteria. Our staff will support volunteer food samplers as they engage with students. This is a great opportunity for groups of 5-7 volunteers to join our mission, but we are also able to accommodate to individual volunteers!

Volunteer responsibilities and requirements include:

  • Generate a positive environment by greeting and engaging with students
  • Pass out sample-sized food portions
  • Follow the leadership of Vetri Community Partnership staff and school personnel
  • Clearances are required to work with us on school grounds

Schedule

  • Food Tasting days occur anywhere 1-4 times on a monthly basis
  • Volunteers should be available between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm

About Vetri Community Partnership

Mission Statement

Established to help kids experience the connection between healthy eating and healthy living, Vetri Community Partnership empowers children and families to lead healthier lives through fresh food, hands-on experiences and education.

Description

Children who have healthy bodies and healthy minds have the opportunity to create healthy lives for themselves. We envision healthier children with fewer obesity-related health issues who become empowered adults who can then pass nutritional eating habits onto their children. We’re committed to breaking the cycle of poor eating habits passed down from generation to generation.

We love real food. We are not nutritionists, dietitians or doctors. We are chefs, restaurant industry transplants and food lovers who understand that healthy food is better received when it’s served in a delicious and dignified way.

Our programs aren’t prescriptive; they’re experiential. When kids connect with real, whole food in the cafeteria or in the kitchen, they are inspired to make informed decisions, influence their families and become a voice for healthier choices in their communities.
