Help United Through Caring Hands, Inc governs the overall execution of the organization’s mission. Principally, the board manages organizational finances and sets long term priorities for programs, including the development of: projects/initiatives. Additionally, the Board oversees the Executive Director, who is responsible for day-to-day management of the organization. Overall, the members of the Board contribute the educational, management, legal, and financial skills needed to ensure long term organizational stability and ensure year-to-year educational excellence for Help United Through Caring Hands, Inc mission. Mission: Transform lives from poverty, and unemployment to self-sufficiency, and sustainable careers.

The Board of Directors may have up to 8 voting members. Terms are for 1-2 years.

Board Member responsibilities include attendance at regular board meetings that average 4 times per year. There may be sometimes where the board may need to hold additional meetings. Board members also hold a fiduciary responsibility for management of organizational capital and ensuring appropriate filings with federal, state, and local authorities consistent with the organization’s status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The attendance policy allows for removal if one consecutive meeting is missed without notice.

Declaration of Candidacy

Board positions require a time and energy commitment that should not be underestimated. Candidates are urged to consider personal priorities for the next year or two as well as the ways to contribute to the development of the organization.

Donations: As with any Board, members will be solicited for a cash or in-kind donation; 100% participation is sought; the amount is optional, but we ask that board members consider giving at a leadership level. Board members should maintain an active membership status during their term.

The mission of Help United Through Caring Hands is to provide an array of supportive services to at risk women to improve their quality of life, increase their income, and promote self-sufficiency.

Description

Help United Through Caring Hands will provide Workforce Development, Job Training, Resume Writing Services, Life Skills Training, Seminars, Job Placement and Workshops to unemployed, and underemployed women. Our programs will assist those who are in need of employment, as well as provide them with tools to help them achieve financial independence. Our programs will be free to the public, therefore making it affordable and accessible to everyone who qualifies for our services.
