Goodwill Gulf Coast

Community Volunteer Assists with Adult Literacy
Hundreds of adults seek help from Goodwill Easter Seals each year to improve their educational level. Volunteer tutors change the future for these students.

Living in an adopted country is not easy. Reading signs in the grocery or on the street, notes home from teachers, or mail can make a person feel like an outsider. YOU can help someone feel a part of their world by helping tutor English Language Learners! Classes happen in Mobile and Baldwin Counties at Goodwill Gulf Coast Community Centers. Use our curriculum to teach simple English rules and phrases, or civics toward passing the citizenship exam. You will be assisting an onsite instructor (so you don't have to know it all yourself)! You don't need to know a second language yourself--you will be making someone feel grateful and more at home!

DUE TO COVID, SCHEDULING MAY BE MODIFIED. Please bring a facial covering, plan to social distance, and allow a health check upon arrival.

Contact Lydia at 251-380-7150 or lgaudet@goodwillgc.org for locations and class times.
