La Posada’s main goal is to restore families who are experiencing homelessness to stable and permanent living situations by providing interim housing. La Posada provides case management and support services to identify each family's strengths and needs, working to address the root causes of homelessness and preventing recurrence. Most participants are primarily Spanish-speaking.

As a part of La Posada, EDUCATE (Educational Community Access and Alternatives to Training/Employment) provides training in ESL, basic computer skills, financial literacy, resume writing, interview skills, and time management. As an EDUCATE tutor, you will help La Posada participants gain valuable skills that will support their transition out of homelessness.

The primary responsibilities of the EDUCATE tutor are to:

  • Support coordinator/supervisor to conduct adult educational/employment intakes and complete educational training assessments.
  • Perform one-on-one tutorial for adult participants to complete resume and/or cover letter.
  • Maintain well-organized documentation of participants.
  • Conduct research on housing and employment opportunities for participants and post them on bulletin board.
  • Compile program statistics and prepare attendance reports monthly.
  • Maintain computer lab so that it is clean and organized.
  • Manage and update a resource book for participants and staff.
