Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles needs volunteers to help us get the word out!
We are SO MUCH MORE than just a furniture store.
When you shop, donate or volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you are supporting programs that are putting power back into the hands of the Black community!
As a local, grassroots non-profit, we don't have a huge marketing budget. We rely on volunteers like you to spread the word! Do you want to be part of this team?
Volunteers get a pack of materials and a map of the area. We give volunteers a training, water and snacks. Then the volunteers go out and get our posters and cards into stores and neighborhoods. It's fun, it's active and you learn about your city in the process!
Help us keep this 32 year old Black community economic development institution running strong! Everyone needs to know that we exist, that they can donate furniture, and purchase high quality items at low prices PLUS all proceeds go to critical programs.

Description
Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
