ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts

Girl Scouts Eastern Massachusetts

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is proud to collaborate with Toyota Financial Services and Girl Scouts of the USA to offer the national patch: Driving My Financial Future!

The Junior Driving My Financial Future 6 week series invites girls in grades 4 and 5 to focus on two aspects of financial literacy- being a savvy shopper and business owner. During the series girls will explore the difference between needs and wants, and learn how to save for both. They will also explore how you can turn something you love into a successful business.

By the end of the series girls will have earned their Savvy Shopper and Business Owner badges. They will also receive a special Driving My Financial Future patch.

Description

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is an organization dedicated to girls and is a leader in innovative girl programming and collaboration. GSEM serves nearly 33,000 girls, ages 5-18, from 178 communities in Eastern Massachusetts. Our community of nearly 15,000 adult members includes volunteers, parents, caregivers, staff, alumnae, students, and professionals. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible options that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls.
