Make-A-Wish South Carolina serves families in every area of South Carolina and utilizes volunteers like you to transform lives, one wish at a time!
Wish Granting volunteers work as a team of 2 with our local wish families to understand the wish child’s one true wish, generate excitement throughout the process, and create a memorable granting experience.
The time commitment is flexible but long-term, typically 15-20 hours per wish child over the course of a year. For this reason, we ask volunteers to commit for a minimum of 1.5 years.
Training includes a background check (around $25), and completion of a few online courses and a webinar. The minimum age is typically 21.

Make-A-Wish South Carolina grants wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Since 1984, Make-A-Wish South Carolina has been granting wishes to children all across the state of South Carolina. Each unique wish brings hope, strength, and joy to a child living with a critical illness.
Children can wish to have something, to go somewhere, to meet someone, or to be something. Volunteers move our mission forward by working directly with wish families - helping them throughout each step of the process. From the initial interview to find out that one, true wish to sending them off in style if they are travelling, volunteers add a local, personal touch to make the wish extra special.
