weSPARK Cancer Support Center is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with an upcoming 5K/10K race at Lake Balboa (Woodley Park) on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Good for runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels, the event will feature a 5K course, 10K course, kids fun run (ages 3-11), music from K-EARTH 101, AMP Radio & JACK FM, a vendor expo, and a fun day for the whole community! All proceeds will go to weSPARK Cancer Support Center, a Sherman Oaks non-profit.
Volunteer duties will include handing out t-shirts, medals and prizes, providing directions, cheering along the course route and other event support duties. Volunteers should arrive by 6:45am and will be finished by 12pm. Volunteers will receive coffee, bagels and a commemorative t-shirt. Volunteers will be on their feet for extended periods and should wear comfortable shoes & dress warm. More information at: https://wespark.org/event/runwalk2020

Volunteers are asked to arrive at 6:45am (runner's packet pickup begins at 7:30am, race begins at 9am)

10K & 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run!
We will also have a kids play zone, vendor expo, food trucks, music from local radio stations and a raffle.

Scarcely a person in this country has been untouched by cancer, either by a personal diagnosis or by knowing and loving someone who has been diagnosed. The disease must be combated physically, but also psychologically and emotionally. weSPARK provides a variety of programs and opportunities for social exchange to all people at no cost, regardless of income, race, religious affiliation, age or where they go for treatment.
