Program 2415RG-R
Date: Wednesday, November 28th, 2018
Time: 10:00 - 11:30 AM
Volunteer Role: Writing coach
About the program: In First Garden by Robbin Gourley, fifth-graders read about the White House kitchen garden planted by Michelle Obama to encourage healthful eating. As they explore growing their own food and cooking with fresh ingredients, students will consider their own family’s traditions for preparing meals. Supported by coaches, they’ll write about a healthy family meal, or develop their own recipe, to create a class cookbook. Their families will prepare the dishes, and join the class at a celebration.
