Beginning November 1st, we are looking for volunteers or volunteer groups of any size willing to help us make progress toward getting new books ready for gifting before early December.

Each year, Hawaii Literacy distributes thousands of new books to client families from low-income communities. The books will have tags that parents can fill out and give directly to their kiddos (so gift books will be from mom and dad or grandma, etc.).

Gift books will be distributed at our Family Literacy Libraries program sites (in Kalihi public housing), at low-income and transitional housing sites along the Leeward Coast and around Honolulu (via our Bookmobile), and at the Waianae Christmas Parade.

DUTIES

  • tie ribbon around books
  • curl the ribbon ends
  • attach gift tags
Seeking volunteers available to help for at least one 1-hour shift with a 2-hour shift recommended.

We'll provide all materials.
