We need emergency standbys,
can you volunteer with us to help those in need of rescuing?
We would like to go out and help in the areas affected by the fires and need your help finding lost animals and bringing donations to shelters/rescues. Do you have a truck, van or bigger suv for transporting supplies to these areas? Are you comfortable being on a search and rescue team looking for lost animals? Please let us know how you would like to help those affected by the fires.
Being a STANDBY VOLUNTEER helps us be sure we have the help we need to ensure that dogs are being taken care of in case of emergency. Usually, you will not receive a call that day asking for help, but when things go wrong and we need to quickly move a dog or get a dog medication asap, it is crucial that we have that list of available volunteers. If you just happen to have the day off (or that morning/afternoon/evening off) please reply letting me know what days you can potentially help.
If there are days that you are unsure if you have plans yet, we can still put you down on that day we just ask that you keep us updated as your plans change.
When we go into a week without enough volunteers on our list, we go in unprepared and therefore we let dogs down. If you have any days available to help, please let us know so that we can put you on our list for that day. ;)

Mission Statement
We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs, the day they are to be euthanized, from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. We do NOT take dogs in ... we rescue only from shelters. The Ace of Hearts Foundation is in memory of "Ace", a wonderful American Bull dog who was rescued from death, and touched the lives of many! (Especially founder Kari Whitman!) We rescue all breeds...and don't discriminate against any!

We need Standby Volunteers daily!
Emergency Volunteers/Stand By's
This may seem like the least helpful, but actually our stand-by's always save us & the dogs! We need you!
You give us the days and times you are available and we add you to a list. Then, if something comes up that day- you will be the first one we call. This helps us reach out to volunteers with availability that day instead of calling our entire volunteer list. If there is a day, half a day, or even a few hours you can volunteer to be placed on a "call in case of an emergency" list, let us know! This can be for many different tasks, and almost
always requires some driving. We try very hard to plan things in advance, but if there is a last minute opportunity to save a life, get a dog adopted, or a foster emergency, it helps to have a handful of people we reach out to first!
We are in desperate need of standby volunteers!
