ORGANIZATION: Raleigh Parks Volunteer Services Program

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is looking to recruit 4 volunteers to coach in the Mitey-Mite (ages 9-10) Boys Basketball League . There are 2 head coaching positions and 2 assistant coaching positions.

Coaches are required to host at least one practice a week that can not be on game days. Game days are Tuesday, Thursdays (6:15 pm and 7:15 pm), and Saturdays 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm).

Practices have already started, but games will start in December and the season will end in February.

Volunteer Impact: Be a role model for youth in the community and teach valuable life lessons through basketball.

Work Environment: Volunteer coaches must enjoy working with youth. Games and practices will be held in the gym. There will be a high activity level and the possibility for high levels of noise.

Volunteer Requirements: Volunteer coaches must be at least 18 years old and be able to commit to the time commitment. Volunteers will need to go through a paper application process and background check.

Per department policy this event cannot count towards court-appointed or suggested community service hours.
