Client Intake Volunteer
Do you like helping people? If so, come and be a client intake volunteer at Valley Outreach
The Details:
Days:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9:30am - 12:00pm
- Tuesday and Thursday: 4:30pm - 7:00pm
- Friday: 12:30pm-3:00pm
Key Responsibilities : Meet one-on-one with clients and check them into the database; communicate available services that Valley Outreach and surrounding community agencies are able to provide; file paperwork and log data; respect client confidentiality
Training? Ya sure, you betcha there will be training.
What do you bring?
- Customer service skills - friendly, welcoming and respectful
- Strong communication skills with an authentic sensitivity to diverse clients in crisis
- Able to multi-task and gain thorough knowledge of potential resources for clients in crisis
- General computer knowledge
- Able to work independently
- Pass a background check
- Speaks and reads Spanish or Arabic is a plus
Time Commitment: 6 months

Valley Outreach is a bridge between the crisis of the moment and the solution of the future. We help our St. Croix Valley neighbors in need of food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, and other support while respecting their individual dignity and offering them encouragement and hope.
Description
What started as the St. Croix Valley Emergency Food Shelf in 1983 has grown into the place our neighbors turn to during challenging times. Today Valley Outreach is the only non-profit in the valley that provides clients with a range of support - whether they need food, clothing, and personalized client services.
We’ve learned a lot in 35 years, but nothing more important than this: everybody needs help. And as long as there is need, Valley Outreach will be here - taking care of our community, and making us all a little healthier, stronger and more stable.
Valley Outreach is a community based, community-supported, privately funded non-profit organization serving our St. Croix Valley neighbors in need of food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance. Our Food Shelf provides food and other necessities. The Clothing Closet provides gently used clothing at no cost to men, women and children. Our Emergency Fund provides emergency financial assistance to help families in crisis.
