On December 15, 2018, Food For The Poor will host our community food packing event at Engelwood Neighborhood Center in Orlando. This is your opportunity to Give Globally and Act Locally!

Combat Hunger Globally
Create a fundraising team to help us pack and ship 100,000 specially formulated meals for malnourished children in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Support Families in Puerto Rico
Help us raise funds to provide orthopedic items, personal hygiene products and school supplies to Puerto Rico.

Bring Joy Locally
Food For The Poor will distribute toys to Orlando-based children in great need this holiday season with the help of City of Orlando Neighborhood Centers. Participants are encouraged to bring a toy to the event on December 15.

Register for the event
Each Join The Pack team consists of 10 volunteers committed to meeting a required cumulative team goal of $500. With 10 people raising $50 each, your team will meet its goal before you know it! You may also register as an individual or with a smaller group. The donations you collect are what make it possible to provide these lifesaving meals, and medical and school supplies to Puerto Rico.

To register and for more information visit: www.foodforthepoor.org/jointhepack or call (954) 427-2222 ext. 4020

Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to link the church of the First World with the church of the Third World in a manner that helps both the materially poor and the poor in spirit. The materially poor are served by local churches, clergy and lay leaders who have been empowered and supplied with goods by Food For The Poor. The poor in spirit are renewed by their relationship with and service to the poor through our direct ministry of teaching, encouragement and prayer. Ultimately, we seek to bring both benefactors and recipients to a closer union with our Lord.

Description

Food For The Poor is the largest international relief and development organization in the United States, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy. Founded in 1982, our interdenominational Christian ministry serves the poorest of the poor in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Thanks to our faithful donors, our programs provide housing, healthcare, education, fresh water, emergency relief and micro-enterprise assistance in addition to feeding hundreds of thousands of people each day.
