ORGANIZATION: ProMedica Hospice

  • 16 people are interested

ProMedica Hospice is currently looking for volunteers who are able to share their time with our patients living at home, assisted living or long term care facilities. Hospice volunteers who give their time to terminally ill patients and their caregivers/families during a critical time are the backbone of our volunteer program.

As a friendly companion visit volunteer you are able to sit with a patient and offer active listening and emotional support for the patient and their loved ones.

One example of a friendly companion visit would be: a patient's caregivers/loved ones may need to run errands or have an appointment. Being able to provide volunteer services is vital to our program.

We currently services 9 counties and are looking for volunteers in the following counties: Logan, Shelby, Darke, Preble, Montgomery, Miami, Greene, Clark and Champaign.

Provided either in-home or within an assisted living or skilled nursing center, our Hospice Care program includes palliative care by hospice professionals, counseling for patient and family as well as pastoral support. In addition, registered nurses, therapists, dietitians and social workers are available to meet all the patients' health care needs.

Hospice Care is a promise... a promise to patients who are facing the most difficult time of life, when choices seem few, and the patient and family situation is most fragile.
