During the appointment process the caregiver will meet with a Family Advocate who will talk about the counseling resources that are available as well as other services that we have access to like food and housing. We need a volunteer that has a heart for people and is bilingual Spanish speaking (fluent). With this role there is the possibility that you could be called to testify for the case in court because you will know sensitive details of the case. We only have one staff member that is bilingual and her role is to interview children, due to conflict of interest she cannot speak with the caregivers as well.
