ORGANIZATION: The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter

The Richmond Dine to Defeat ALS is a formal sit down dinner honoring Chris Tsui for his philanthropic contributions, especially those made to The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter. The night will consist of a cocktail reception, silent and live auction, and a seated dinner and program. Volunteers will be asked to help with the registration process, the auction process and the check out process. In addition, volunteers will be asked to help with the set-up and break-down of the event.

Leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. The DC/MD/VA is based in Rockville, MD with an office in Richmond, VA.

Description

The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of people living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis a.k.a. Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and their families in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The ALS Association National Office and the ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter operate under a shared mission: to support people living with ALS and to leave no stone unturned in the search for a cure. The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA is currently serving almost 700 people living with ALS and their families. These services include assistive technology devices, social worker visits, medical equipment loan closet, transportation grants, and many other services. All of the Chapter's services are provided free of charge to the families.
