WANTED: FOSTER GRANDPARENTS FOR SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN OTERO COUNTY

What is a Foster Grandparent? Foster Grandparents are role models, mentors, and friends to children with exceptional needs, such as reading or need help with tutoring one-on-one. The programs provides a way for volunteers age 55 or over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities.

All you need to join is the ability to give the kind of comfort and love that sets a child on the path toward a successful future. If you want to share your experience and compassion, you have what it takes to be a Foster Grandparent.

BECOMING A FOSTER GRANDPARENT VOLUNTEER

One item to remember: when you volunteer, you're not just helping others--you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life. So get involved and join Foster Grandparents today! (Corporation for National and Community Service)

REMEMBER! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR US, BUT IT'S WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU! THAT IS GIVING YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY. For more information about the program please contact Karen Groves at (575) 439-4154, located in the Alamogordo Senior Center, Alamogordo, NM.
