Are you an Audiologist or an ENT specialist? Would you like to assist Special Olympic athletes in receiving health screenings? We need your help.

Special Olympics in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a Clinical Director,Healthy Athletes "Healthy Hearing" to join the Healthy Hearing team. Special Olympics NC needs qualified medical professionals to assist with the organization of Healthy Athletes screening events. Certificate and current license as an Audiologist and/or ENT specialist is needed to volunteer.

The Healthy Hearing discipline of Healthy Athletes provides comprehensive hearing screenings and follow-up recommendations. The main goals are to inform athletes, parents, coaches or caregivers about the detection of possible ear and hearing problems, recommend follow-up as needed, and to advise about the necessity of regular ear and hearing screening.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the local Special Olympic program to coordinate a screening event in the Charlotte region.
  • Recruit and train volunteer health professionals.
  • Use Healthy Athletes Software (HAS) to document athletes' health status and needs during screenings.
