The election is over. Now the real work begins.
It’s up to you, as a constituent, to hold your new members of Congress accountable. It’s up to you to fight for the country and world you want to live in.
That’s what you’ll do as a RESULTS advocate in New Orleans.
RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed, everyday people. Together we use our voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty. We’ve been doing this for 38 years, and we know that change doesn’t happen just because we vote. It doesn’t happen just because there are new faces on Capitol Hill. It happens because you tell your members of Congress what you care about and what they can do about it. It happens because you make calls, you write letters, and you go to Capitol Hill. It happens because you demand it to happen.
As a RESULTS volunteer, you will learn how to be an effective advocate in the fight against poverty. Practically, that means:
*Learning how to develop a relationship with your member of Congress so that when you get in touch, they listen.
*Developing media skills so you can write punchy, persuasive opinion pieces and convince editorial boards to write about RESULTS issues.
*Joining a movement of people committed to ending the systemic and structural injustices that drive poverty.
*Meeting with your RESULTS group monthly for training, updates, and action.
*Taking your message and skills straight to Capitol Hill.
Our staff is based in Washington D.C. and we have community chapters across the United States. Learn more at results.org.
What are you waiting for? Start influencing the policies that impact your life and the lives of millions of people around the world. Become a RESULTS advocate.
