Description
Since 2010, EBSB has provided an academically challenging and active environment focused on how boys learn best. We combine hard work with discovery, creativity, fun, and purpose. At EBSB we provide opportunities for boys to design, build, nurture, and grow their world, empowering boys to affect, connect, reflect, and most importantly, love to learn. We also focus on the boys’ social and emotional experience by creating a space where boys have positive male role models and are taught how to, and encouraged to be, the great adults of tomorrow: engaged, thoughtful, courageous, and justice-minded. Located in Berkeley, EBSB enrolls 75-100 students from across the East Bay. Our community is diverse and committed to developing an equitable and pluralistic learning environment that builds from the identities and capacities of each of our students, their families, and our staff, toward a more just and healthy community by addressing power and privilege created by systems like patriarchy, white supremacy, and capitalism. We are proud our community is comprised of 48% students of color, 55% faculty of color, and that 55% of our families receive tuition assistance.
