WNC Nature Center

- Need volunteer for around 2 hours starting at 9:00. Days available are every Tuesday.
Tasks include: - All weather outdoor work (except dangerous), including rain - Picking up otter poop - Using a leaf blower and a hose - Lots of scrubbing! - Preparation and cleaning of enrichment, including large pieces - Comfortable being on feet and moving on potentially slippery terrain for long periods of time - Moderate manual labor - Working independently and efficiently (there is a time element with the 11:30 educational otter program). These volunteers will not work directly in with the otters, but will be close to them while they work!

The WNC Nature Center is taking every precaution available to protect volunteers, guests, and staff in relation to COVID-19

  • Disposable gloves will be made available to you during your shift
  • 6-foot social distance space and limited entry will be enforced
  • Staff and visitors will be required to wear masks in your area
  • Physical barriers will be installed wherever appropriate
