Come on out and be an inspiration while being inspired. The Girls on the Run 5K is a joy-filled event that culminates the end of a ten-week program where girls have learned about their strength and limitless potential. Our non-competitive 5K event provides more than 1000 girls the opportunity to learn for themselves how incredibly they are and they can take that knowledge and apply it into all aspects of their lives.

We anticipate about 2000 runners as each of our 1000 girls run with an adult running buddy. The race is also open to family and friends. We also have another 1500 spectators, so it is a fun event that celebrates the power of girls.

This day is not possible without volunteers who believe in these girls and want to make the day special for them. Volunteer opportunities include event set up, parking, registration, course marshal, water stop, post-race refreshment and more.

Come out and join this wonderful event. You will not be disappointed!

Description

The Girls on the Run lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small groups of girls through the research-based curricula which teaches girls social, emotional and physical well-being. Over the course of the ten-week program, offered in both fall and spring, girls develop essential life skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event where the finish line is just the beginning.
