Best Friends mission success relies heavily on our ability to connect & link people with one another and the lifesaving work needed in their communities. This ability relies upon creating a "tour de force" of Volunteers armed with knowledge, compassion, and a road map for success with the support needed to shout "Mission Accomplished!"

The Volunteer Engagement Manager is the energetic bright engine that drives this mission. This person is responsible for the management of Best Friends Animal Society's Houston volunteer programs, including volunteer needs within the following areas: foster, nursery, transport, Community Cat Program needs and outreach/events volunteerism.
The Volunteer Engagement Manager will provide leadership for staff and volunteer teams who are consistently offering exceptional client service to one another for the purpose of maximizing our lifesaving abilities in Houston. This Leader is responsible for working with the Coalition Manager, Community Engagement Manager and Foster Manager to increase volunteer capacity and engagement for Best Friends Animal Society’s work in Houston.

This person exhibits excellent customer service and leadership capabilities and is responsible for professionally developing, overseeing and managing a department whose goal is enhancing volunteer engagement and increasing capacity and lifesaving impact for Best Friends Houston.
