We are a licensed 501c3 animal rescue located in Rome, Georgia. We are foster-based, which means all of our rescued dogs are living in foster homes while they get spayed/neutered, get their vaccines, and we find their forever homes! Our fosters are the lifeline of our organization! We provide ALL food, ALL vetting, ALL supplies needed too! There is NO COST TO YOU! We ask that the dog live with you in your home, and be treated with love and affection, just as you would one of your very own! Sometimes a rescue dog may only be there for a few days, and other times it may be a few weeks, and unfortunately, we have had a few dogs be in a foster home for a few months. Of course, by then our fosters have fallen in love, and don't mind at all!!!
We do rely on our fosters for feedback about the pet too - it's YOU who know what kind of home would best suit that dog! It's YOU who can tell us if the dog is a cuddle bug, gets along with other dogs, loves cats (or hates cats!), loves to ride in the car or doesn't, love to chase the ball, or never learned to play. We love our fosters!
We also offer the opportunity to choose - do you prefer small dogs, big dogs, short haired dogs, long haired dogs, puppies, or senior dogs? You tell us! If you're planning a vacation, just let us know in advance, and we can move your foster dog to another home! We can work around most situations that arise! Want to foster a litter of puppies? We have those opportunities too! We do ask that you make the pet available, and possibly transport the dog to our adoption events, which are usually twice a month, and planned in advance. You're more than welcome to stay and see how we do these events, or you're welcome to drop and go if you have other plans for the day! We're VERY flexible and easy to work with!!!

Mission Statement
Founded and granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS in 2016, Hootie’s Haven Animal Rescue Inc is committed to the care and rescue of dogs in the NW Georgia area from high kill shelters, abusive and neglectful situations, and owners who, for whatever reason, are no longer able to care for their pet. We welcome the public to visit us, and learn how they can make a difference by volunteering, donating, fostering, adopting, and educating others. All pets in our care are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, temperament tested, placed on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, and given the opportunity to feel love, comfort, and safety. We operate entirely from public and private donations, and every dollar received goes directly to the medical and daily care of each pet.

We rely on donations to support the pets in our care, as well as adoption fees to help cover their vetting expenses.
