We believe teachers are the solution to the Global Learning Crisis, not the problem. Teachers for Teachers brings the expertise of teachers together to improve learning in Ugandan classrooms. Volunteer teachers collaborate with Ugandan teachers to practice instructional techniques and assessment practices they are learning in our teacher training program. While volunteer teachers have a lot to share, we believe they will build relationships with their Ugandan colleagues and learn in ways that will impact their own practice.

Volunteers will design professional development sessions, work with teachers in their classrooms to provide coaching and feedback, and contribute their skills to developing community-based education programming and literacy activities.

We are looking for volunteers who have a teaching background (particularly at the elementary/middle school level) and who are passionate about using their skills to make a change in classrooms around the world. Volunteers will travel to Uganda from July 2-20.

Learn more about the full program and associated costs at www.pangeaeducation.org/volunteer and join us in Uganda this upcoming summer.

Mission Statement

We are Pangea Educational Development, but you can call us PANGEA. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to empower students and unify communities through sustainable education.

Description

PANGEA has been making a global impact in the lives of children since 2011. We are motivated by the belief that every student has the right to a quality education. Our evidence-based programming in Uganda addresses the three places where learning occurs: at school, at home, and in the community. PANGEA has grown to over 12 full-time staff members serving more than 4,000 individuals per year. The organization has been recognized for its innovative programs, receiving the 2018 Innovation in Philanthropy Award from GoAbroad and an invitation to speak at the 2019 SXSW-EDU conference.

We believe that there's a difference between charity and justice. Charity gives someone something that belongs to you; justice delivers someone something that belongs to them. Education in a human right, and it belongs to everyone - this is what we work toward. We're here to help institutions become the focal point in people's lives and communities. That's what we believe in. And this is what we stand for. We are PANGEA. Come join us.
