Lap blankets, hats and scarves provide comfort and warmth to Sanctuary Hospice patients at the end of their life’s journey while providing a keepsake for their families to remember them by. Knit or crotchet while visiting with hospice patients to provide them with socialization and companionship...receiving the "pearls" of wisdom from them, or create them at your own convenience and hand deliver them to Sanctuary Hospice patients served throughout Cuyahoga, Summit, Medina, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Patients and Families Come First The mission of Sanctuary Hospice is to understand and help guide our patients’ quest for a rewarding quality of life in their final days and to help their circle of family and friends support them in life and grieve for them in death. Sanctuary pledges to provide expert hospice care for the comfort and dignity of the terminally ill by addressing their individual physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Sanctuary Hospice serves as a resource to the community for end-of-life care and related issues and seeks to provide care for all appropriate patients and families who need hospice services regardless of ability to pay.
Description
Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire-to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas: Administrative, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Pet therapy, Music Therapy and many other Special Alternative Complementary services.
