Elderly patients on Hospice generally have lived long fruitful lives full of adventures and a plethora of stories. They reminisce constantly and are looking for a volunteer with available ears and open hearts to hear their stories and motivate them to reminisce more. Homestead Hospice has what we call a life story, full of questions to ask the patient during conversation, once the question is answered, a page or more can be filled out in the life story. By the time the book is finished there is something for the family or volunteer to remember the patient by. This is not only beneficial for the patient but also the volunteer who can learn from their life.
