Be ready before an emergency occurs- Red Cross DAT members bring the mission directly to the client.
DAT Members: Respond to local emergencies (house fires, flooding, power outages ...)
- Bring each family member a "comfort kit" made up of toiletry items
- Provide financial assistance to families with Red Cross’ Client Assistance Cards (CACs)
- In winter, provide blankets for the families
- Bring on the scene canteen services (water, coffee, and snacks) to the families/emergency responders.
- Complete all information necessary for Casework follow up-

The Central and Shenandoah Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross is made up or 18 counties and 5 independent cities, and serve in our community every day. We are here when a family has lost their home to a fire; when a child needs blood after an accident; when a service member needs to get home for a family emergency; when a heroic citizen has to perform CPR on a stranger in the street; and when people seek shelter, food and comfort after a large scale disaster.
