During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Hot breakfast is served 7am-8am every weekday morning, excluding holidays. All are welcome to come and eat regardless of income, employment, religious beliefs, age, gender or race. The Salvation Army’s Breakfast Program is the only free hot breakfast served in Harrisburg. We average 75-100+ clients per day. Volunteers should arrive between 6:30-6:45 am. Volunteer shift may end at 8:00 am with conclusion of meal service, or later (9-10 am) if volunteer is able to stay and help clean. Tasks include: cooking, serving food, taking attendance, cleaning, and visiting with program participants.

The Salvation Army of Harrisburg is a unit of the international Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. The mission in the capital area is: (a) To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and provide facilities for public worship; (b) To reach out and serve those who have spiritual or material needs, without regard to race or religious creed, through spiritually motivated, professionally designed and administered human service programs which meet unfilled and changing needs; (c) To actively seek and encourage the broad, active and consistent participation of the community.
We are dedicated servants motivated by our love of God to provide a broad focused, front line, adaptable approach to serving our ever changing community with compassion, dignity and respect, helping to impartially move those we serve from dependence towards wholeness as we endeavor to build up body, mind and spirit.
We'll work with your schedule.
