ORGANIZATION: We Connect The Dots

Be a part of our team
The best part of volunteering for WCTD is we will teach you valuable skills that will support your future career success.

This is a an opportunity to help raise funds for our STEAM Research & Education Center. This new center will play a role in supporting workforce development and educational programs for communities surrounding the center. We will be sharing a first look at images of the newly designed space, images of what will be possible, a look at our new Podcast Studio "Studio Nebula", and an opportunity to experience first hand what our programs are like. Have fun exploring mixed reality with the HoloLens, explore the new center through a Virtual Reality tour with HTC Vive VR. Learn how to use command line coding while making a humanoid robot stand up. Fly a drone through an obstacle course, program a Sphero robot to move through a maze. Make a IoT object using Makecode.com and micro:bits. Group Mind Mapping at intervals throughout the night, with our unlock the box as the grand finale. Where participants are searching for clues throughout the night to unlock the locks that lock the box, that holds a ticket for a chance at a door prize.

Your role will be to help with coordinating the efforts for this event. We need people that can take charge and work with our Committee Event Chair to make this event a big success to help our organization to raise funds for our new STEAM Research & Education Center.

You will join a committee and work with the team to help plan the program, maybe coordinate catering, or help setup the day of the event, work with one of the activities to help participants, or possibly support the clean up at the end of the night or next day. No matter what your role you will be a part of a team that is dedicated to our mission and passionate about providing learning opportunities that are fun and engaging. We create memories that drive deeper learning outcomes and a desire to continue to explore, building grit and a growth mindset. Your support and being a part of our team will be an opportunity to excite everyone about the STEAM Research & Education Center.
