The Project HEAL- Southern Ontario chapter is seeking a warm, friendly, and passionate volunteer in the Southern Ontario region to join their executive council as the Outreach Specialist.
Some of the primary responsibilities are:
- Spearheads research and outreach with local businesses, treatment centers, hospitals, schools, and organizations
- Promotes information of the chapter locally
- Facilitates local press opportunities
- Cultivates relationships with other organizations, including potential collaborations/ partnerships
- Schedules educational presentations in local schools
- Maintain database of local connections
- Supports Volunteer Coordinator in volunteer recruitment needs
- Ability to volunteer at least 5-6 hours per week for 1-year
- Familiarity with Google services (i.e. Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc)
- Ability to multitask
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organized individual
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Comprehensive understanding of eating disorders
- Passion for Project HEAL's mission
All Chapter executive board positions require a 1-year commitment from volunteers. Additionally, this role requires approximately 5-6 hours per week; specific times for when this role is completed can be somewhat flexible.
This is a great opportunity for anyone in the Southern Ontario region with an interest in helping people affected by eating disorders and body image issues and/or strengthening local organizations/resources.

Project HEAL is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that provides access to healing for all people with eating disorders.
Description
Since its founding in 2008, Project HEAL has provided over 100 applicants with access to live-saving treatment for their eating disorder, established over 30 Chapters and 25 Ambassadors bringing Project HEAL's mission and values to communities across the United States, and developed partnerships with more than 30 recognized eating disorder treatment providers across the US. The primary function of Chapters is to serve as robust local recovery communities that offer resources for those affected by eating disorders and opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of those affected by eating disorders.
We are an organization with a large volunteer base and have many volunteer opportunities available year-round. We are always looking for new people who have an interest in and passion for helping others suffering from eating disorders, poor body image, and low self-esteem.
