The Project HEAL- Southern Ontario chapter is seeking a creative and tech-savvy volunteer to join our executive council as our Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Lead. Candidates should have experience in marketing and PR, a passion for Project HEAL’s mission, and an interest in growing a developing team. The MarCom Lead will be expected to spearhead all marketing/PR for the chapter and manage a committee of volunteers who are responsible for updating the chapter social media accounts.
Responsibilities include:
- Creates/manages chapter marketing materials for other chapter volunteers to use (i.e. local chapter one-sheeters, social media graphics, etc)
- Creates annual and campaign specific marketing plans for the chapter
- Oversees implementation of annual and campaign specific marketing plans
- Oversees Chapter MarCom Committee, including social media volunteers managing chapter social media platforms (ensuring all accounts are up to date, providing best practices, etc)
Qualifications:
- Must be able to commit to 5-6 hours per week (for at least 1-year)
- Proficient with all main social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work remotely
- An analytical mind and interest in using data to optimize/scale social media marketing strategies and tactics.
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects
- Passion for Project HEAL's mission
- 2-3 years of online content creation/marketing/PR experience (preferred but not required)
- Comprehensive understanding of eating disorders (preferred but not required)

Project HEAL is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that provides access to healing for all people with eating disorders.
Description
Since its founding in 2008, Project HEAL has provided over 100 applicants with access to live-saving treatment for their eating disorder, established over 30 Chapters and 25 Ambassadors bringing Project HEAL's mission and values to communities across the United States, and developed partnerships with more than 30 recognized eating disorder treatment providers across the US. The primary function of Chapters is to serve as robust local recovery communities that offer resources for those affected by eating disorders and opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of those affected by eating disorders.
We are an organization with a large volunteer base and have many volunteer opportunities available year-round. We are always looking for new people who have an interest in and passion for helping others suffering from eating disorders, poor body image, and low self-esteem.
