ORGANIZATION: GIVE BACK WISCONSIN CORP

  • 7 people are interested

Give Back Wisconsin (GBWI)is seeking 1-10 volunteers to take part in our "Bridging the Generation Gap" program in 2019.
Volunteers must be between the ages of 15-18, live in the Milwaukee area and have good communication and people skills.
The project vision is to unite high school aged youth with senior citizens with various volunteering and mentoring interactions. Just a few hours each week together can leave a lasting impact on the lives of both. Whether it's getting seniors up to date with the latest tech gadgets, doing a crossword puzzle or taking a short walk to enjoy the outdoors, these interactions play a pivotal role in the relationships between our youth and senior communities.
Volunteers individually or in a group would visit local assisted living facilities to assist in activities and interact with seniors. GBWI will coordinate with the facility and volunteers as far as times and dates and availability.
