Michigan Premier Hospice Volunteer
If you have a calling to love, care and help others, becoming a Michigan Premier Hospice Volunteer might be the perfect opportunity for you.
BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING:
Most volunteers feel personally rewarded through their offering of time, energy and compassion when they see how much they can help patients and families. Our dedicated team of volunteers helps to empower our patients and families by providing:
*Companionship and support
*Caregiver relief
*Bedside vigil
*Veteran's recognition and support
*Music visits
*Pet therapy
*Administrative support
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*Most of our hospice volunteers are over the age of 18, but we do have a limited volunteer program for high school students.
*We ask that you wait a year before volunteering at bedside if you have had a loved one who died in hospice care.
*To ensure all of our volunteers are prepared for volunteering, we will provide an extensive orientation and training, approximately 2 days.
*All of our volunteers are required to have a background and drug check at Michigan Premier’s expense as well as a valid driver’s license if your volunteer experience involves traveling to patient’s homes.
