Several Pasadena area social workers have noted the ongoing need for gift cards, such as McDonald’s, In & Out, 7-Eleven, Walmart, and Target. Fast food gift cards are especially helpful when workers must detain children who will wait for a foster home placement and when children have to be moved from one home to another. Social workers often supervise monitored visits with children and parents in fast food restaurants, and it’s difficult for many parents to buy the food. And sometimes the children need toothbrushes and other hygiene items. And it goes without saying, a little treat is always welcome.
If you can donate gift cards for $10, $15 or $25, the children, and the social workers will be most grateful.
